This old John Deere disk was recently given to me. I was playing around with it today just curious if any of the bearings would take grease (they wouldn't) and cutting some of the old baling wire off. Did these plows have bearings or just some sort of bushing and are parts still available from somewhere? |

| Zach; I have the same disc. Believe it or not, the John Deere dealership near me ( Shelbyville Kentucky) has every part I have ever asked for for. Hubs, scraper holders, engage lever that you tie the rope to etc. I have rebuilt mine. Ellis Kinney |

| My dad had a JD wing disc at around the same age. It had wood boxings. I know cause he replaced them in the mid 50s. |

| I do not know what model he might have had but it was not a KBA like that one as they never had wood boxings. The bearings were all white iron untill the later units that were avaible with seeled bearings. |

| The white iron bearings in these disks hardly ever give trouble. Odds are you have some grease fittings clogged. Install some new ones and you probably will solve your problem. If you use the disk all day you should grease it at least twice that day. Mike |

| Take a look at Schoup. They sure have a lot of disc parts in their catalog...no idea if they have some that fit yours... also sometimes you can cross the bearing parts if you dig into the jsparts. info.

| The disk harrow model is a "KBA". White iron brgs are still available if you can afford them. I've never seen a regular pull-type such as in your photo with AF brgs. The KK6004B half is for a later model(not positive it will interchange) as the earlier model part is NLA. Someone from NY or NJ has been advertising some JD disk parts in the YT classified ads
KK5970B BEARING SPOOL 1 GANG BOLT ADD 123.58 USD
KK6003B BRG BOX-FRONT HALF ADD 95.34 USD
KK6004B BEARING BOX REAR HALF ADD 95.34 USD
