Intermeshing rolls are fine in salky hays, but will shread the leaves off of tender crops like Alfalfa. Loren. |

| If you visit the major alfalfa growing areas in California, Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, or about anywhere else you will have a hard time finding anything BUT intermeshing rolls being used. It's a proven design that has become standard in the industry. |

| Not when they're adjusted properly - some of my hay is alfalfa mix and some is trefoil... no problems with knocking leaves off either one. |

| Been using my 1091 for about 7 years and no problems except the lift tube wore and wouldn't mesh, had to weld it up again. $2000.00 seems $800 to $1000.00 high to me unless it has barley been used with a new sickle. That is a 30+ yr old machine. |
