How can I find out what size of back blade or disc harrow that my Ferguson TO 35 can pull? Given that the TO 35 is a 30 hp tractor. :?:

The paint is peeling on the gray parts, but what is underneath is still grey. The green is not peeling at all. It may be original.

From what members have said, I do believe that my blade and disc are too big.

The ground here is full of rocks and clay. The disc barely scratches the surface. Both of these implements came with the purchase of the tractor. So I think I will have to sell them and forget about tilling the ground. I do what to get a box scraper. Thanks to everyone for the help. :)

I think whoever owned that tractor before knew what they were doing and sized those tools just right for your tractor.
If you need/want a box blade that's another story.
I would not sell what you have.

My Ford 3000 is physically about the same size as your 35 and I have an 8' back blade for it.

I have a few more ponies than you but like it that wide.

I would say a 7' back blade would be just about ideal for you.

Lets you cover your tracks when it is fully angled.

6' does not cover your tracks when angled and 5' would be rediculous IMO.

I use mine for snow too so that is a factor.

Edit:

I have an 8' disc for my tractor.

It is not a real heavy disc tho.

I would say a 6' is about right for you.

5' would barely cover your tire tracks.

Curious. Is that the original color of that tractor?

about perfect....

5 or 6 foot blade.

What type of disk? See my answer to a question a couple above yours. A single or a double disk?

You could probably handle a 10 foot single disk fine.

Would be scared to have more than a 6 foot double disk. Could handle 8 sometimes just fine, but then what about the times you couldn't?

I would stick to a 6 footer, blade and disk.

My grandfather had a Ferguson ABO-22 7 foot disk that a Ford Jubilee could pull (just). If an NAA could pull it, a TO-35 certainly can.

One big key to what one will or will not do is where a person is. A 7 footer in my area a NAA would not do well with but our soil is rock and heavy clay and I know a TO35 would have the same problems

we have the same kind of soil. The NAA would pull it but it was a struggle. The TO-35 is a little bigger, plus I think the Continental engine is a little better puller than the Ford.

Not sure on either they are pretty close as for HP. NEB test has the NAA at 31HP and the TO35 at 32.90 so very close. I pull a 6 footer behind my 841 but I also have around 500lbs sitting on it so it digs in well

blade should not be over 6 foot or you will not be able to turn the blade around with out hitting the tire when on the tractor

There'll be someone along in a minute and tell how their grandpa pulled a 14 ft disk with his'n. Back in the '50s when we had a brand new one, a 6 ft 3-point disk was a good match; I wouldn't recommend a drag type of any size.

6 foot baled is about right for that. s for a dick depends on many things like soil type. If your talking a 3 point disk your pretty well limited to about a 6 footer due to the fact you want to be able to steer your tractor when it is off the ground. I knew a guy who had a Ford Jubilee and he also had a 10 foot tandem JD disk with yd lift and he could only pull it if just hitting the ground but Missouri is full of black clay in this area and a 6 foot disk is all a person wants to try in this area with a machine like yours

I would say 6 to 8 ft and that depends on soil type and if the ground is plowed or not.

Most 5-7' blades will be fine for that tractor.

I would guess a 10-12' disc also. Not sure what type of soil you have.
