I agree with whats been said, as long as the hay is dry you will be fine. Check the upper feed roller real good because if the rubber is starting to come off you will wish you had never seen the baler. Another plus is the C series doesnt need quite the horsepower of the later series balers.If you want an open throat design the Vermeer G series was the first to have the open throat. thurlow 11-05-2012 07:47:27 74.177.51.73 Report to Moderator	Re: 605 c vermeer baler in reply to rick1950, 11-05-2012 06:34:00   Baled tens of thousands of bales with one-of-them in the '70s/early '80s; IF the hay is cured/windrows are uniform/field is clean, they bale just great........20 bales per hour for hours on end. If the above conditions are not met, they can be VERY frustrating. I've spent as long as 3 hours lying on my side/back pulling hay....basically a stem at a time.....from between the (closed-throat) rollers. Depending on your own situation, you MIGHT be better off looking for a "F" or later model. [Reply]  [No Email]
