But, I do contract haying for one couple on 40ac. and the property surely has gopher problems. 3 sets or flips of the blades on that place this year. Is there a tougher blade offered by some companies or are they all relatively soft? [Reply]   [No Email]

By the time you need to reverse the blades, the blade is jammed up with cuttings which need to be cleaned out anyway so changing the blade (around) just makes cleanup easier. It doesn't pay to make a separate hardened blade. Just buy a big box o blades, and go to work. It only takes maybe 10 minutes to change out a set!   [Reply]  [No Email]

I had some that where made in Germany. They where made out of harder material. They worked great in flat clean hay ground. If you got into rough ground, where they might hit the least little thing they would break off.   [Reply]  [No Email]
