| Yes it will work for horses. Put your twisted clevise on a forcart such as a Pioneer forecart and go to plowing. |

| | And, oh by the way Uncle Henry, It's probably obvious to you that you don't want to attach the trip rope to anything on the tractor very securely. When that hitch releases the plow due to it hitting a rock or stump or root, the plow is going to stop and the tractor is going to keep going. How do I know what happens if the trip rope is tied to the tractor? Been a long time ago. Tom in TN |

| Its pretty amazing just how strong an old baler twine can be. It will snatch the seat down so fast that you are in mid air before you know what happened. A which point if you didnt have a good hold of the wheel you stood a good chance of going off the back as the tractor learched forward. Dad always put a single strand of baling wire on the string to hook to the seat. Not thinking I twisted it a couple of times so it would not fall off. It only take one time to make a belever out of ya.

| They look like something is missing but there is nothing missing. It just drops into the clevice like that with nothing but the weight to hold it in place. |

| Hitch is NOT broken. A twist clevis is used to hook to tractor. That hitch will release if you hit a rock or something hard. ggp |

| | NO, IT WONT IF you have ANY rock or tree stumps in your field. Horses are smarter than tractors. Horses will stop when the pull is exxcessive. A tractor will just dig down in its govenor and produce more hp. That will ruin the horse clevis. Ive found, from plowing with the same for 50+yrs, that the smaller the twist clevis, the better. ESPECIALLY if you have rock and stumps, and have to do alot of backing up. Just get a tractor twist clevis that is just big enough to drop the plow tongue into and youll be fine with a 1in bolt for a pin. Unless you splurge and buy a store bought pin for it. |
