  Can somebody i.d. this thing? It has a lot of 'S' numbers, such as S300, S253, etc. Thanks, Fritz |

| There were so many companies making things like that at one time,you might not ever find out unless you get real lucky and somebody recognizes it as being local. There was a company just west of me that made everything from plows to stationary engines. There are still a few examples around here,I've even got two plows,but if they got very far from home you'd have a heck of a time identifying them. |

| You can rule out Mcormick Deering and John Deere as they have the name inprinted on them, I have each of them..I believe some old Oliver stuff had those S numbers on them,,Good Luck |

| Look closely at the cast parts.There should be a company logo cast into atleast some of them. |

| With all the S numbers it may have been a piece of S#*t! Seriously, as good shape that it seems to be, you would think there would be a name somewhere, but I have seen a lot of implements with numbers stamped on various parts, (I would think that they were part numbers,) but they had no manufacturer name. I have three old disc harrows that have no ID on them at all. Can you tell if it's been re-painted? If there is another color underneath, that may give a clue. |

| I found some original crud next to the wheel and it had what looked like orange paint underneath. Also, there are two original-looking bolts in the lever quadrants, square-headed with a raised dot in the center. |
