I'm looking to buy a two row corn planter to do sweet corn and food plots. does anyone know where I can get a good working one near Minneapolis, MN. |

| I have had two Ford 309 planters and am now rebuilding a third and they are very reliable but!!!just like stated above make sure you get the right seed plates because they are sometimes hard to find and expensive. Get metal seed plates if possible. |

| Try an ad in St. Cloud or SW MN craigslist....guy near Willmar had converted a JD 7000 into a 2 row 3pt planter. Otherwise, the 70/71 row units are popular. |

|  what ever brand you buy, check with the local dealer and be sure you can still buy parts for the planter. otherwise, you might windup with a great deal on a barn yard decoration. remember: your crop of corn, depends on the seeds being placed at a proper depth and correct spacing. I picked up this old 2 row John Deere planter with 25-B planter units by trading around a bit. Great little planter and can change row spacing by loosing two bolts. |

| | Depends on what you call good prices. I paid $250.00 for a #71 planter unit. I bought two and was happy to find them for that price. Larry |
