Said they had to supply a USDA acres map showing where it would be planted to "ensure" no seed harvesting and replanting. Had a few legal forms they would need to fill out PLUS pay $360 a bag. The roundup earned its keep this year. Getting there second good cutting next week on the roundup stuff and the others they are cutting again to knock down the weeds. For what its worth the dry weather probably didn't help the conventional alfalfa pass up the weeds. I am guessing they are going to try all roundup next year. Just my 2 cents. [Reply]  [No Email]

So you generally can keep up with the weeds pretty good in alfalfa, no need to spray - the very first time after planting can get weedy, after that mowing keeps up with the weeds. Other locations with a mild winter or longer dormant dry periods I think rup alfalfa can really help out. --->Paul [Reply]  [No Email]

Sprayed it twice mowed it once never got any useable hay last year. Got first cutting this year,but now i think its dead from drought on light soil. Cost= $350+ a bag. [Reply]  [No Email]
