I have a New Holland Super 78 Hayliner with a serial number of 3303. Is there any way to determine the year it was made from serial number? When did the graphics change from a plain yellow "New Holland" on the bale chute to the big yellow stripe with New Holland inside of it? Im pretty sure its an early model, just wanted to know the year it was made. Thanks up front! Walk in peace |

| I will take a bet that it is probably in the first year, or very early in the second. When those were made the square balers sold like hot cakes. I would bet people were trading in stationary balers left, & right! Could You imagine the joy of a 50 year old farmer getting away from a stationary at that time! We just cant appreciate it. The Indiana State Fair is coming up, & every year there is a farmer who brings a JD 730 Dsl. He puts a copy of the original sale slip on the tractor. He Paid some cash, & traded in some Holstein cattle to the dealer for that tractor. Thats Alien to us today! |

| A baler that old isnt something that would normally have published S#'s. You might try the corporate HQ for New Holland if Case has not done away with it. |

| I went to the New Holland site and asked the same question, I just thought I would rather hear it from farmers/experts here than a corporate type. :) Walk in peace |
