I was wondering if a adapter plate or driveline adapter was needed to mount a john deere 444 corn header on a ih 1440 combine. already have the jd head and lookin at buying a ih 1440 combine but not sure of the hookup any help appreciated |

| | Like the poster below stated Bish makes them. You should be able to find one used. They where real common around here. IH did not have a very good corn head for a good number of years. I would place a want ad in a regional paper about wanting one. I would bet that they are laying around and not thought about. I have had them before and did not give more than a few hundred dollars for them used. |

| Yes, you will need a Bish head adapter plate and also change the JD chain coupler drive shaft over to the IH 1 1/8 hex shaft. |

| I really dont have an answer..But I have seen a number of red and silver machines with green heads on them.So it must be a fairly easy adaptation. |
