I bought a 213 head from a guy my wife works with for $350. Looks decent, not all beat up, been shedded, needs a good bath and some TLC. It was delivered yesterday and on the 6600 when I got home from work. I decided to drop off the head for now, went to where I usually dropped the MF heads off and set it down. When it cleared the lift blocks on the throat, it rolled forward enough that I can't pick it back up. Wasn't expecting that!!! I'll have to get the front raised and blocked up enough to hook it back up. Do you have to put something under the sickle every time you take this head off??? Chris |

| Another trick that will help is to lock the reel up. |

| Yes, this is a problem. I usually place a 4x4 post along just under the sickle bar to give it some tilt for the next time I want to pick it up. But now once it's on the ground flat I jack up under one of the snouts with a HandyMan jack and block it. Sometimes this can be squirrely but it's the only trick I know about this topic. Go easy and don't bump the head with the combine when you pull up and knock it off the blocks that tilt it back. |
