Banditfarmer 11-13-2012 07:57:35 174.103.143.47 Report to Moderator	Yesterday it rained all day and I was looking at some pictures of my old 95 Corn Special working in beans and corn and it got me to thinking. The old girl did a realy good job this year with the crops. She cut 70 bpa beans in 2nd gear (16ft header) and 180bpa corn with the 8x20 corn head in 1st gear. The 303 gas never ran out of power or even seamed to pull it down any so I cant complane about that. I know its a gas but it realy didnt burn all that much, Well a gallon and forth an acre realy is not bad figuaring the load it was under. The only bad thing I found was the amount of material that went through it and ruuning the corn showed me that I have some sheet metal work to do to patch her up good. Funny thing is me and dad watched the nieghbore run there 4420D that is in realy good condition run his beans and corn and I sware that my 95 could out cut and shell the 4420, I could be wrong but it sure seams that way. It kinda funny when you run a combine you only see whats going on in front of you and not behind you, And when you look at pictures of one running you see things you want to change or improve on witch I am going to make. I was realy thinking about another machine but now I am thinking with some metal work and maybe an engine down the road I have a good one allready. I have done alot of work on it allready and adding the new corn head I guess I will keep pluging away and fixing her and keep running her, Or am I nuts! Bandit [Reply]   [No Email]
DeltaRed 11-13-2012 17:46:25 67.6.219.50 Report to Moderator	Re: Thinking about the 95 and what it did in reply to Banditfarmer, 11-13-2012 07:57:35   I have been told by more than one farmer that a 95 will 'smoke' a 4400.I also am thinking that the 3300 replaced the 45;4400-55;6600-95;105-7700?One of my neighbors bought a 4400 to replace a 95.It will not do as much work as his old 95.My 'new'95 will outrun it,too.And yes the 4400 is a nightmare to work on.We counted belts,4400 uses something like 40+ belts.95,less than 12.I think I would rather have a wornout 95 than a new 4400!BTW,I am thinking I am going to sell BOTH the 105s.Just come to CO and get one-or both!Steve [Reply]  [No Email]

Here is a few pictures of diffrent cylinder bars used in diffrent JD and others and there sizes. I still think the 95 was replaced by the 6600 and not the 4400. About the only thing bigger on the 4400 is the grain tank and the amount of repairs. A 6600 is supposed to replace a 105. Same deal. Keep her as long as you can. [Reply]  [No Email]

Used to run a 7720 TII. I know of a 95 with corn head sitting outside a barn down the road, gasser, never seen it move in the last 10 years. [Reply]  [No Email]

I didnt beleve till I was shown JD lititure saying that very fact. We had a 4400 and I wouldnt give a plug nickle for all of them made. They do a good job cutting and cleaning but there a nightmare to work on. I have run 2 diffrent 95s and a 55 as well as the 4400 and I find the 95 alot easer to opperate and work on. Maybe I am set in my ways but I think I will be keeping the old 95 and just do some rebuilding of the sheet metal. After all its payed for and I have put alot in it so alittle more in sheet metal wont hurt. Bandit [Reply]  [No Email]
