The belt that drives the fan blades for radiator cooling broke. While replacing the belt I noticed the fan blade had a little wobble so I decided the bearing should be replaced too before the fan goes through the radiator. The fan bearing is pressed into a casting. The shaft coming out of the bearing has a hub pressed onto it. Question??? Does anyone have experience taking out/putting new bearing back into the casting that holds it??? How about taking off/putting on the hub the fan bolts too. Any thing to avoid or helpful hints on taking the bearing apart/reassembly? Thank you. Andy |

| 4400 the fan will crash land into the radiator....been there, that bearing just presses in, should have been designed with a pin or locking device, BUT NO!!!! I bit of advice , do not "clean up" the hole for the bearing or lube it with anti-seize. but I did get $50 for the radiator at the junk yard after it was splayed by the fan! Sending you good luck |

| Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see Just did it this summer for same reason, noticed there was quite a bit of wobble in the fan and didn't like the thought of it making a crash landing in my radiator. I did use a small press to remove and install the new bearing as it is a pretty tight fight, other than that it is all unbolting everything and bolting back in place. Replace the alternator and ac belt while you are in there too as if either of those go, it all has to come apart. |
