Case 660 has only one lift cylinder, not one on each side. Have to build brackets on axle. Also have to raise feeder mounts on 660 as Case heads have a separate shaft to run feed chain and putting JD feeder on Case mounts is to low for delivery to cylinder. Also Case head is driven by a belt and not a chain, so have to change that. Case mounts are bigger than JD so they have to be rebuilt. Jd feed plate is too short, so different one has to be made. I've put JD feeders on Case 1660's and 1665's and 1160's, so I know all the problems. We posted a picture of one 1660 with a 220 JD flexhead a couple days back. |

Casecollecttorsc I didnt know the 660 only had 1 lift cylinder on it(learned something new today) I thought they all had 2. Not many Case combines in my area so its a learning curve for me. Could he use the flat face from a JD feeder house and adapt it to fit the 660s feeder house to use it that way? Just an idea. Bandit

JI Case combines never had a quik attach feederhouse at all. You have to adapt everything from the JD to fit the Case. Besides, the 4400 feeder is much longer and puts the load to far forward on a 660. And a snail would be faster than what you could go with the little 4 cyl. engine and 3 rows in 130 plus corn.

There was a Case with a JD 244 corn head on it on Ebay not to long ago and that looks like what they did. I dont know how it was done but it got me to thinking about it. I wish there was a 660 close to me to look at cause I'll bet I could figuar it out how to make it work. Bandit

That was a 960 Case. A little heavier and a bigger engine. Also a 95 feeder is shorter than the 4400.Didn't say it couldn't be done, time and cash cures anything. You can,t just buy the feeder and expect to go combine the next afternoon.
