Five year old Logan (city boy) cut his first bin full of wheat today. He rides with me on tractors in parades, but today was his first time on a combine.

THAT is great. You can never start them out too early. I can remember clear back to being 4-5 and riding on tractors and combines.

I don"t wish any bad on anyone but you never can know when your time is up. You need to teach them while you can.

My grand kids are always around the farm with me. I can remember leaving their parents home many times. It was too much "trouble" to have them around. That was a mistake of my youth. I have mellowed as I have gotten older. LMAO My son tells me I would have shot him if he put up tools messy. I just laugh at the grand kids doing it. I have a 7 year old grand daughter that is a real grease monkey. She always goes home dirty. She helped Grease the combine yeaterday. I am not a real hit with her Mom.

I can remember riding with my Granddaddy back in the 60's on a round back 55 John Deere. Then driving the same combine myself with my little brother falling asleep behind the seat... thanks for the memories and a look back to days gone by!!

When I was 8 or 9 I remember riding with Dad on the Super 27 harvesting wheat and he letting me steer it. I still remember him telling me to watch the left end of the header and letting the right take care of itself. That is advice I have found useful in life, take care of what matters and let the rest of things take care of themselves. Like spending time with your grandkids. Great picture.

That is almost identical to the first combine i rode in we had a yellow 4296??? correct me if im wrong on the model

Roger,it looks like your making a farmer out of him. This picture will be cherished. Thanks for letting us see it
