Hi guys, I have a 1979 IH 1460 combine and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what color of wires hook up to the connection on the top of the alternator. I know there are 3 flat spade connectors. I know the bottum left is the red wire. Then above that it is either the black or green. The one to the right of the red one can either a black or green. Not sure where the black and green ones go..... |

| If you are trying to run a Delco, and if your combine originally had a good Niehoff, unless someone was smart enough to jumper the relay...you may have the idiot light on thus alarm on below hydro lever. Even though the Delco is probably charging. Remember on a delco the outermost wire is the field, and the inner one is the Energize wire...ie the wire that turns on with the key switch thus lighting your idiot light. Remember a reversing relay is nothing shy of a switch. N/C vs N/O and vise versa. |

| I was looking at it again, I guess it is a green and tan wire. |
