I took this picture of this strange critter a few years ago, can't remember where. I was told it's a Hitterdall made in Hitterdall, Minn. What's certainly different is the beam with the caster wheel extends forward instead of to the rear. Powered by a 2 cyl Wisconsin, which was sitting on the ground nearby. Interesting to know what the production numbers of it was. I hope someone took it under their wings and restored it.

I believe we have a Hitterdal swather like that at Western Minnesota Steam Threshers at Rollag, Minnesota which is not far from Hitterdal where they were made. It is restored and shedded.

Jerry, Do they demonstrate with it at the Rollag show? I'd love to see it operating. I've got an early M-H swather so I know what those vintage belt-drives are like. Fun but demand 110% of your attention. Fudd

Now that's different....wouldn't have been the greatest for opening a field or swathing back and forth either.

My Dad sold a new one, can't remember the year but it wasn't long after World War II.
