As far as the click you hear in the fuel line/at carb is probably the fuel shutoff sol one of the other guys mentioned,my 1st thought after your last reply, was a blown fuse in wiring harness, but when you turn ign sw to on & hear click would rule this out, double check where sol bolts to rear of dash/chassis,check that you have a good/clean area(no rust/paint)where sol bracket meets dash/chassis,if sol has a single terminal for coil, take a jumper from battery pos to coil terminal on sol(ign sw off)if sol works & starter cranks eng, nothing wrong with sol,if it doesn't either sol bad or wrong type,to check ign sw you'll need a powered test light or vom meter, you'll probably have to remove plug-on connectors(s) from rear of sw,locate battery terminal on sw,connect 1 lead of light/meter to this terminal, while holding sw in start position goto other terminals with other lead of light/meter,if sw good, you'll get a light/meter reading(ohms)on one of the terminals,if no reading to any other terminals ign sw bad,if sw checks ok,then problem in safety sw's or wiring harness. If you have owners manual check for a wiring diag in it to id ign sw term & wire colors to safety sw's,hopefully there's one to help you along. If your going to check safety sw's with a powered testlight/ohmmeter,disconnect battery pos cable BEFORE doing any testing. |
