| | Ken's suggestions are good ones however, if you are not using 20W50 or 15W40 MOTOR OIL in the hydraulic system of this tractor, that may be part of the problem. Run the tractor until it begins "surging" and then immediately check the hydraulic tank for any sign of foaming of the oil. If you are getting foaming, then the pump is sucking air into the system due to loose hose clamps, defective intake hose or loose fittings on the suction side. This must be corrected right away or you'll destroy the pump. What is the serial number of your tractor? |

| Surging, if the tank is full, would indicate a restricted intake . If your 446 is one of those with a screen in the bottom of the tank, check it out. They have been known to cause similar problems. Otherwise, the suction hose may be faulty and collapsing inside. |
