I have a 1973 JD 112 with Hydraulic Lift. There is a problem with the PTO, so the mower runs, but the blades do not work. It is used and not in the best of condition (I am not the original owner). So what I am wondering is, if anyone knows what it would cost to replace the PTO, or if the mower is still worth any money in this condtion?

I have a 112. Without inspecting your clutch it would be hard to tell you what it should cost to repair your pto clutch.

I do recall that I damaged the piece with the linings on it and the replacement was way over &100 back in 2006 or 07. (I glued the old lining back on and used it like that.)

If you want to repair and use it and it is in good condition other than the clutch you probably could afford to spend &200-300 on it. If you are asking could you get more money out of it after the repair is done, Probably not enough more to cover the cost of the repair.

It should still be worth at least 200 to 300 dollars and if your the original owner, it's probebly really nice then it might bring 500, especially with the hydraulic lift, you could buy a snow blade with the hydraulic lift it would work great on that or make someone else a nice snowplow tractor.

The lift is worth more than the rest of the tractor, but a 100.00 repair is a cheap grass cutter, and a good tractor too.http://www.weekendfreedommachines.com this will give you some place to look around, go to the home page and go from there.
