I know these were made to be simple to remove implements..I just don't see the releases. Does anyone have a pic with directions for dummies ? I need to take off deck and mount snow blade. also I need to know, is there any difference of the size of the engine drive pulley that runs the tractor between a hydro, and gear drive ?? They have a small upright bar in the middle that attaches to the lift arm with a chain or, if you want down pressure a bar. Angle adjustment is accomplished through a right hand lever (Usually missing some parts) wheel horse made short and long frame plows and later a front mount blade. I'm not even sure my blade has one that far forward.. I may have to move the upright part. See another thing different .. you have a lever to change angle ?? mine must be missing ?? I used to collect dealer new model brochures. The 1986 book shows you how to install the mower in 65 seconds. To remove, on the front.pulley box turn knob clockwise to loosen belt pull pin out of pto pulley and swing half moon arm out, remove belt, push pin on left side pulley box, flip lever and it's on the ground. start out with the mower in up position, push the button and flip lever on left frame brkt. lower the deck and slide it out. I won a 12 pack bet off a buddy of mine one time installing his deck in less than 65 seconds. [Reply]  [No Email]

The tach-a-matic system is quite easy to use. On the left hand side of the tractor you will see a small pin/ rod end sticking out of the front tach-a-matic. It originally had a black rubber boot on it. Pull that towards you. It should release the whole mechanism. Move to under the motor, along the side of the frame, and find the same pin. Pull it out. That should release the mower. The plow may attach under the rear axel. That tach-a-matic Will have two thumb levers, pull them up to release them. These things get rusty or dirty and may stick. Sometimes their beat up and have burrs that need to be removed. Joe [Reply]  [No Email]

I have a one car garage dedicated to my Cub Den that has a broken cub, a broken little Craftsman , and a larger Craftsman ,( for now my main mower) The wheel horse came with a parts tractor , although it is a little different looking, older model. (transmission will not let it be pushed backwards) but is does have those thumb levers you are talking about,(Can almost see the tip of it on the right side).... just possibly the transmission pulley will fit the 516 also. question from there is mounting the blade ? it has a bar on the back to click into those levers. further up there is a vertical piece of metal with a hole in it. wondering how that is attached to the lift arm ? maybe a chain??? I had an older one long time ago ..seems to me it had a chain. [Reply]  [No Email]

In pic you posted the orig handle is laying against blade,Thin rod from squeeze grip on handle went to a bellcrank mounted on angle bracket by handle mounting/pivot bolt,from bellcrank another thin rod ran to latch plunger to hold blade in position after changeing angle,also many of the pre C/early series C tractors used a chain rather than a bar to connect blade to lift handle arm(I have both styles),the chain/bar usually connected to center/intermost hole on rock shaft arm closet to lift handle The usual method to install blade on tractor is remove pivot bolt for handle,remove or lay handle on ground,drive tractor over blade frame,slip cross shaft on A frame into quick attach on axle & lock,connect arm/chain to lift handle arm,reinstall arm for angle adj on blade. toro [Reply]  [No Email]

I'll warn you if the goal was to make implement changes easy they failed, they can be done with a minimum of tools, but it's not easy. more than once I've had the snow blower in the center mount with the entire weight of the tractor sitting on the snow blower and still can't get the darn thing to latch.
