Hi, I bought a used mower deck for my sears custom 8E mower, but my deck is now mounted and it is hanging 3" lower in the front than in the back. Does anyone know why? I bought the lever that raises and lowers it from a different junkyard and am thinking they are different for the suburbans than the customs? If anyone could post a picture of a correctly-hanging deck and lever system on a custom 10 or custom 8E, I'd appreciate it! |

| The sears Custom 8e I have is has a belt driven mower deck but the blades are shaft driven. We have had our 8e since it was purchased new. If I think on it ill get pics. We still use it today at my grandmother's house. |

| The way you describe it, it sounds like you bought a lever for a Suburban. If this is correct that is your problem. The Suburbans had larger diameter tires and had more ground clearance which would require a different control lever. The Suburban mowers used entirely different mounting hardware than the Custom series. Do you have any of the original mower deck or mounting hardware? If so you can compare them. That's about all I can do for now, hope someone else can do more. |
