Don-Wi 07-31-2012 19:04:03 75.207.203.169 Report to Moderator	We finally got enough rain to have to cut the lawn, but the lawn mower won't start. Here's what I've got: The engine will turn over if I jump it at the starter. When I turn the key on the dash lights up, but nothing when I turn it to the start position. There are 2 lights on the circuit board under the dash. The green light comes on when the seat switch is pressed, but the red one never comes on. I know it normally does. I don't hear the fuel pump kick in when i turn the key like normal I swapped the fuses on that board and it made no difference. I pull one and the headlights don't work, I pull the other and the dash lights go out. Point me in the right direction here guys... Donovan from Wisconsin [Reply]   [No Email]

The tractor starts now, one out the kids pulled out the pto switch. It'll start but now it won't stay running for more than a few seconds our maybe a few minutes. The PTO red LED (C) indicates that there is power to the PTO relay (D) coil through either of the following circuits: • Key switch on, operator on seat, park brake disengaged, and PTO turned off (PTO pre- operation circuit). • Key switch on, operator on seat, PTO turned on, park brake disengaged, and ignition relay engaged (PTO operation circuit). When diagnosing a problem using the LEDs, and the LEDs are off, check that part of the circuit before the control/fuse module LEDs (neutral start or PTO pre- operation circuit). When the LEDs are on, check that part of the circuit after the control/fuse module LEDs. Tests for voltage or ground will be at the control connector (I) or the power connector (J) of the control/ fuse module and not on the printed circuit board paths. The ignition relay (B), PTO relay (D), start relay (E), fuse terminals (H), key switch (K), ignition LED (A), and PTO LED (C) are mounted on a printed circuit board. The components are solid state and are not serviced separately except for the 15 amp fuses. [Reply]  [No Email]
504 07-31-2012 20:41:43 64.111.61.44 Report to Moderator	Re: JD 425 no start in reply to Don-Wi, 07-31-2012 19:04:03   This is just a guess, on the 455 and 445 there is a fuse hanging in the harness by itself not on the board. That is the one that runs the fuel pump. That will be on the right side above the circuity board. ( mine did not even show up on the wiring diagram) [Reply]  [No Email]
