I purchased a used 5 hp flat head briggs on a troy bilt pony, only to discover a major crack in the intake manifold.I have attempted to repair it with JB weld. Repair, seems to be holding, however what if it fails? Then I discovered this motor is very special. It has two output shafts that are counter rotating, one shaft is for forward and the other is for reverse. Any idea of where I can purchase this motor? I've been on line and couldn't find anything like it? George |

| Try smallenginewarehouse. I bought a 10hp B&S engine from them in 2006 for my Horse model Troy Bilt. Hal 1-800-321-6725 |

| | I bought one off of Ebay for $40 two years ago. Or you could get similar "regular" 5hp engine and swap the cam shaft out of yours into the "new" one.

| | I went to ebay and they want $40 for a rusted out gas tank for the 5 hp briggs. Wanna sell your motor for $50? How could I swap the cam? My motor has two output shafts. All the briggs I've seen has a threaded hole where my second shaft is. George |

| | Nope. Mounted it on a Pony I bought with a froze engine and sold it for $400. I watched for a couple months before I found it. If yours is running OK I would keep watching for a while and eventually one will pop up. I don't think there is even a 5hp Briggs with a PTO shaft on Ebay right now. |

| The 850 Briggs for $199 is a pretty good price. |
