Have friend that is working on a JD LT 133 with a Kohler CV13 engine. Always ran fine. All at once it became hard to start. Will only run at idle. Have been through fuel system, carb, lines, tank ect. Has a good hot spark, new plug. Anyone familiar with this engine? Thanks in advance for any ideas.Ted |

| CHeck to see if it's getting fuel. I think there is a metal fuel line that runs over top the motor. Those tend to get gunked up. |

| You might want to goto link below & download a service/repair manual for eng, many things can cause problem you have, weak fuel pump, dirt in main jet of carb body, fuel shutoff sol not working or retracting all the way,broken/disconnected springs on gov/throttle setup,bad/broken gov gear, leaking head gasket or valves may need an adj,the cv series eng have hyd lifters, but came with adjustable & non adjustable valve lash, you need manual to id which style rocker arm assembly on eng & follow adj instruction in manual to set adj type as valve lash is set by in lbs torque on rocker arm nut, rather than air gap clearance as on mech lifters, another possibility is you have a leaking/stuck or collasped lifter on intake/exhaust valve, not allowing valve to open completely. |
