In answer to the questions about Roadless 4wd tractors, I start a new thread to explain the history behind them.

Hi:

I am trying to turn my 1963 Fordson Super Major into a roadless.

Was lucky to get the transfer box, but not the front diff.

Just got two front diffs from two CMP military truck, seems like one diff was from a 3 ton and the other from a 5 ton, Not sure what the ratios are on the diffs.

I have searched but have not been able to find a diff from a GMC WWII truck like what Roadless Traction originally used.

Any help or advice would be appreiated.

I am in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Hi. I dont know anything about roadless so for that you would be better speaking to KFD68. If you only want tractor #No's. The engine No is on a machined flat on the deisel pump side at the front of the engine just back from the water pump and just below the head gasket level. It will (should) also be on a plate on the battery side of the firewall. If its a very old model it could be stamped on the casting underneath the battery carrier. If the No's are different it probably means a change of engine. Has your deisel pump got a vacuum governor.
