Injectors need checked on poptester for spray pattern and opening pressure. Injection pump may need internal phase timing reset if any pump elements have been replaced. Full load fuel screw can be set with tractor on PTO dyno. If you like, call 574 893 4172 after 7 PM, have been repairing pumps & injectors since 1976. |

| Thanks for the reply Rich. As you mentioned, I"m certain everything needs to be calibrated etc. I know I"ve completely gone through the injectors a number of times questioning if the spray pattern was right and if they are opening properly. Delivery valves and injectors for cylinders 1&2 seem to be fine, but number 3 just doesn"t seem like it sprays anything like it is supposed to. Even with a new injector tip. If I remove the number 3 line from the delivery valve on the injector pump it doesn"t seem to be producing the solid stream of fuel like the others either. When I went through the pump I didn"t notice anything other than some pits on the cam lobes (from metal debris from cracked springs?) and some corrosion to the front bearings that the cam shaft rides on. With that being said and the fact that all three plungers, barrels, and springs are new what would your best guess be? One thing for sure is "internal phase timing" is waaay outside my area of expertise. Any and all ideas are most certainly welcome and thanks for the info so far. |
