Doug, don't know where you are from,Fordson tractors are just a faint memory, around here ,steel wheel tractors just don't have much value as far as collectors that I know, are concerned. I had a 1921 that sat in the corner of my shop for over 10 years. It was an all original running tractor. Nobody wanted it, couldn't give it away, finally did.It is now sitting in another corner in another building. My step-dad had a nice one he sold for $750.00 a while back and was glad to get that. |

| My Grand-father had one way back in the 30's/40's, that sat under the barn over-hang, out back. Didn't run, but i was too young to know much about them. Us Grand-kids played "farmer" on it for years. Grand-dad allowed his kids to talk him off the farm around age 80, or so, and they moved to town. A local fellow told me that the old tractor had been dropped on Germany during WW II! I was over in France, but never saw that tractor. Saw a whole mess of busted, bombed German machines, though. Heck, ya ought to try to get it running! Be a shame to scrap it. Been too many old antique machines sent to the scrap yard! After i got back from war, i saw two nice old thrashing machines setting in a local scrap yard. guess they got cut up. The restoration craze hadn't got started yet. |
