Well, another question for the Dexta experts. My dexta has the fuel tap & primer on the lower left side of the tank as it should. However, when I push the button it moves about a quarter of an inch and then stops hard. I'm not even sure the thing is working. I plan to pull the glow plug and see if that is glowing/heating as it should this afternoon. At the same time I'll check the pump & see if it works. If it dosn't, does someone have a source for either a replacement or a rebuild kit? -or- is there a work-around for the problem? This old tractor was owned by a guy who ALWAYS started it with ether and I hope that it still has good rings in it. I does run well when it starts but it is VERY hard to start. Runs the battery down almost every time and I have to put the charger on the start cycle to get it going. Advise? |

| James, you might want to check out the Fordson Tractor Pages, at "fordsontractorpages.nl" and check out the "Dexta forum" as everything you need to know about Dexta's IS there.Providing the electrics are good, the standard Dexta cold start should be all you need to get a Dexta started without resorting to the use of Ether.TSG. |
