Thank's Mike What I use to do is put my thumb over the hole to get the compression stroke . Then put a wire in the hole to get the piston at the top .This only works if you can reach the piston and have room when it is at the top . I was told you can't pull a Fordson to start them because of the rear end .A few years ago I visited Fred Hydrick in CA and he showed me an electric starter that was portable that would go in where the crank fit and would spin the motor It would work on alot of tractors .His was a 110 motor geard down on a stand with wheels |

| I should have said that. You are right DON'T tow it. You will maybe get away with it most times but the day you dont then you got lots of expensive. However: - if you get someone turning the handle just as you start to tow it will give you a better chance. But towing is not for me. Incidently I've actually got a brand new boxed set of C5 plugs. But no sir they are not for sale. MTF |

| Gibbard's book, page 35, shows the electric cranking machine they used at the end of the assembly line. |
