Hi. I've just done a bit of investigating for you and with a bit of multiplivision of the serial numbers have got to the situation of a pretty good guess. Firstly the Orange colour was properly called 'Harvest Gold'. production of this started in October 1937 ABOUT #No822800 and continued until ???????1941 somewhere around #No 880000 giving a total Orange production of VERY VERY approx 57000. Thats one hell of a lot of demonstrators. (Please appreciate that these are estimates based on known annual production figures and dates)
I have a very good 10ish page pull out from an old magazine that I will happily copy and email to anyone who is interested giving a brief and probably one sided view of this machine showing lots of variables. MTF
