I bought a Major (serial number 1323087)with two stuck cylinders. Problems: 2 stuck cylinders, 1 cracked sleeve, 2 stuck valves and about 3 iches of grime aound the sleeves. I've managed to get everything off of the engine, except the crank. It looks good. the seals seem fine and I pulled off a main bearing and that was O.k. I've purchased: sleeves, cylinders, pistons, gasket set, exhaust valves, and valve bushings. I can't seem to find info with the torque spec. Can anyone tell me what they are or where I can find them? Also the ring gap? I am sure this is the first of many questions. I havn't even started on the simms pump and fuel system. I am located near grand rapids , MI. If anyone happens to live nearby! Many thanks in advance! Tom |
