I just purchased a 1961 Fordson Super Major with a Ford series 712 backhoe/loader. At least I was told it was a 61 Super Major. Every picture I have found of a Super Major the frame from the radiator area going back to the transmission is a straight C beam just like my 57 Major Diesel. My Super Major"s frame curves down then straight back to the trans area. Was there an industrial version of the Super Major, or is this something else? I"ve posted a picture to illistrate. I"ve been looking for a power steering kit for it but not sure what to get. Any feedback would be great. Thanks, Jack |

Re: Fordson Super Major? Drop Frame Industrial in reply to Jack Mayers, 07-14-2010 19:06:18

| | This was used on the factory installation of or setup for Industrial B-Hoe Loaders. You also may want to check the front axles for a installed 1" thick about a foot long (welded) cap over the rocker pin. You may also have a 3/4" thick extra piece of steel , that runs the full width of the casting bolted to the back of the lower front cast base that has the mounting for the rocker pin hole. If it has that it will also include a extension of the frame mounted bushing for the rocker pin. I have one of these tractors, I have seen others just the same. |

| If I'm seeing correctly, the curved frame is the loader sub-frame, not the tractor frame! |
