Can someone help identify the correct year of this tractor. The picture of the numbers is from the right side of the tractor. |

| Hi,
Serial # (with the extra digit) would make it late Feb/61 as cdmn suggested from the date code.
I would be interested in what the engine serial number shows if you can find it.
Is the Dexta yours or might it be soon?

| Yes it's mine. My dad had it for several years and the place he bought it from told him it was a 1953 Ford Dexter. Something didn't seem right so I started checking. Any idea where to look on the engine? I know it's the 3 cyl diesel. |

| It's hard to see the date tag, but it looks like M-30-F. I believe that would be Oct 30, 1961. Machining might take a week or so. The serial number is on the flange of the transmission housing on left side right where it joins the engine. If it starts with 957, it would be a late 1961. If it starts with 09A, it would be even later 1961. The new numbers started in November. |

| Sorry about that. I was reading the number from another picture.[of my Dexta]. Your date is B-2-F, it would be Feb 2, 1961. It's an early 1961. Serial number should start with 957. |

| Thank you...I found the serial number, the best I can tell is it's 957E 7572_. I think there is one more number after the 2 but I can't really tell. |
