Hey TiresnTracks, I noticed that you know quite a bit about the simms pumps. I have a Ford 9000 that runs very well even though it appears to not have very good compression (white smoke),(mirror smooth cylinder bores), but it doesn't start well below about 50 degrees. last spring the excess fuel button stopped holding in so I don't have that to help starting. I was reading your earlier posts about the Super Major and about the governor diaphragm. Looking at the CNH parts online I don't see a diaphragm. Also do you know what the referenced Booster is on this pump and what the NH/E only refers to? |

| Hi showcrop, Your pump is a little newer than the ones on my Majors. It has a mechanical governor, instead of a vacuum one, so it doesn't have a diaphragm. The booster gives the engine more fuel as the turbo boost increases, there's a line that runs from the intake manifold to the booster. I don't know what the NH-E means, either. Maybe the local New Holland parts department would know. |
