Good Morning All, I just bought a Ford backhoe and cannot find the model & serial #"s on it. All the "markings" have been painted over. The seller said it is a mid 80"s, "555" model. But after looking at some pics on the web and a little research I am wondering if it is not a 755. It does have a 4 cyl diesel, not a 3...Sorry, I don"t have any pics yet. Any help would be appreciated1!! THX.... |

| Definitely not a 555 as they were 3 cyl.
Data tags are on the left side of the dash on at least some models. It should be visible while standing on the ground. |

| 755 will have a 4 cylinder turbo engine and the loader will be more of an older style with the arms formed as a truss. All of the smaller Ford's of that vintage had straight arm loaders. I forget now just where they stamped the TLB serial numbers. Often they had an information tag under the hood or on the dash inside the right door... Under the rad cap access door was another place for the info tag... or around the battery box... You should find some stampings to ID the engine on most likely it's right hand pan rail of the block, mabey date codes on the upper right front mounting ear of the block. Tractors always had their serial numbers stamped on the transmission housing directly to the rear of the starter... though that could be different on this. Those are some places to look anyway.Rod |

| Thanks Guys, There was nothing @ the dashboard. I didn't check under the hood, so that will be next. And I will get the engine number now that I know where to look... At least we are quite sure it is a 755!!! THANKS AGAIN |
