I have a 3000 of that year and never have a problem with mine. In later years they replaced it with a dry filter in the side of the cowl and it is huge, with an inner filter and outer filter, and they are expensive. For me it speaks well of the ability of the oil bath to do it's job effectively. If possible, I'd stay with it. Mark [Reply]  [No Email]

The gasoline engine versions of the same tractors came with a 2 stage paper filter. Perhaps you can find one at a salvage yard and switch yours over that way? As Glen said though, the oil bath filters are considered superior to the paper ones anyway. Why would you want to switch? [Reply]  [No Email]

It is pretty much the consensus that you can"t beat oil bath air filters for tractors becuase of the dust generating environment. [Reply]  [No Email]

I needed a new one because my old one was damaged but if you keep the wire mesh clean and change the oil regularly, you shouldn't need to ever buy a new one. [Reply]  [No Email]
