BUTCH IN NY 01-01-2013 19:19:03 24.29.54.235 Report to Moderator	In the Ford 600 series Shop Manual it shows a special tool in use to adjust the valves in the head. My tractor is a 1955 640. I currently have the gas tank out of the tractor so it will be a great time to check the valve clearance, I just need to know where I can get one of those tools to check the valves and I can button up my 640. Couple years ago I saw the tool in the Snap-on catalog but don't see it now. HELP!!!!!! [Reply]   [No Email]

Tom in TN 01-02-2013 06:39:52 70.193.7.241 Report to Moderator	Re: VALVE ADJUSTMENT TOOL in reply to BUTCH IN NY, 01-01-2013 19:19:03   I wouldn't know a Ford 600 if it bit me, but, years ago, I worked in a garage where we had a special tool for adjusting valve lash. It was a combination socket wrench and screwdriver. The socket part would loosen the lock nut and the screwdriver part could then be used to adjust the screw. You still needed a feeler gauge to set the clearance, but the combination tool would take care of the nut and the adjusting screw.
