On my 601 Ford diesel the throttle is wide open when first cranked. After a while it will slow down. How do I fix it? Roy |

| x2 and while you're at it, clean all the debris from the old one out the return line and other places. Put new seals on the drive shaft too. pump kits can be had for 30 bucks on eBay and perhaps not much more than that at your l;ocal diesel shop.
NOTE: This is not a job you should tackle unless you know what you're doing! |

| | NOTE: This is not a job you should tackle unless you know what you're doing! That is why shops can charge hundreds of dollars to install this $30 part. It is not a hard job but requires knowledge of the system. |

| Replace the "plastic" governor ring inside the pump. That obviously requires pump disassembly. |
