I am replacing the clutch on a 67 5000 diesel 8 speed. Thr old clutch disc has springs (6) around the 25 spline hub. the new disc (ordered from this site Part # eonn7563a-kita) dose not have these springs, it's solid. Does it make a difference and if not, what is the difference. I looked at the New Holland site prior to ordering and it showed the eonn7563a as the pre 68 clutch. Or could the previous owner had the wrong clutch.

Generally the spring dampened clutch was listed for dual power models. The solid disc was for the straight 8 speed.. Personally I prefer the solid disc, even on the dual power. It's one less thing to blow up.
I'm also of the school of thought that I'll buy an OEM clutch before anything else... except MABEY a Hy-Capacity reman.

I've seen more solid disc hub failures in my time than I have dampner spring failures.

The reason the DP tractors are specified to have dampner springs is because of the shock load the clutch disc takes when shifting the DP, especially on an upshift.

Myself, I would go with the heavy duty spring dampened disc.

True, that is why they spec'd the dampened disc on dual power tractors. They didn't always follow their own rules tho... My 7710 had a non dampened disc from the factory. First change out I put a dampened disc in... and I never cared for the way it shifted. Non dampened went in when that one blew to pieces...

So where in Missouri are you??? I live in the Lake of the Ozarks area. A number of years ago I was replacing the clutch in my 1969 Chev pick up and the one I could find for it did not have the springs but I found that I could use a clutch made for a 1956 Vette in it and it had the springs and the cost was like $10 more so I did that

The springs are there to dampen the load when you let the clutch out. The one with out will work just fine but you may fine you have what is called clutch chatter because of the lack of the damping springs. I my self have never used the ones with out springs in any thing I do because of the chatter problem
