How do you or would you replace rod bushings try youself or machine shop?

| | Let a good maching shop rebush your rods. You need the proper equipment to do it. Years ago when I did it, we used a Sunnen hone. Dean

| | Let a machine shop do it. As some on this site have found out the hard way installing precision bushings is more than just pressing the new one in and installing the pin. After they are installed a oil hole needs to be drilled and then the bushing is reamed to size with 0.0001 to 0.0003 clearance. While you have the rods at the shop have them check them for twist or bent.
