My original 6v set up had an ignition resistor. I am adding a new ballast voltage reduction resistor when converting to 12v and I am using a 12v coil. Should I still be using the original ignition ballast resistor ? If so, should the new resistor be located before input to the original ignition resister or after the original ignition resistor ? Thanks in advance. |

| As Dell said, just the original resistor.
It is not the same as the new replacement one. |

| | Tim........iff'n you use the modern 12V squarecan ignition coil on yer weird 4-nipple frontmount dizzy, just use the "infamous ballast resistor" on the backside of yer dash panel underneath the amp-meter. DO NOT USE the additional 12V-to-6V converting resistor. Understand?? 1-resistor ONLY!!! Do you know what you gitt when you connect a 12V coil in series (like flashlite batterys) with a 12V-to-6V converting resistor??? WEAK SPARKIES!!! Points are still set at 0.015" on the kitchen table. use same condenser. (its good fer 100V) Recommend AutoLite 437 sparkies gapped to 0.025" ........Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister who knows 8-ways to convert to 12V and they all work the first time |

| I forgot to add that the tractor is a 2N with a front mount distributor. |

| i agree... 12v 2.5 ohm square coils play well with oem resistors.. |
