Guys I am sorry for not getting my story straight. In August my '68 3000 gas quit running as I was grading my driveway. It has been running rich from the springtime, so I towed it back to the barn. I took the caburetor off to clean it because I thought that was the problem, that's when I found that the float was wired up because of a broken ear that held it. So I replace caburetor with a new one. I still couldn't get it to run, it is getting fuel. It has a weak spark. So I replaced the coil, no luck. Next I replaced the condenser and points and a new wire to the distributor, still no luck. Guys now I need your help. The spark is just to weak to make it fire.

Thanks for all your help I found a an old Ford Tractor Mechanic who checked all the things I did and he said I did very thing right. But I needed to going further because the plugs were fouled with gas. You Know It worked because then we put in the new plugs. she fired off on the first try. she runs great now.

Why did you replace the coil. 99% of a no or weak spark problem is a simple bad set of points or the points not set right or just plan burned out points. I would look at the points and see if they are dirty or burned and if so clean or replace them. As for the condenser I do not replace them since you stand a 50/50 chance the new one will be bad

what coil did you get?

I'd go with a real 12v coil, and hotwire it as a test.

so far you don't mention if you used an oe coil and oe resistor wire.. or a new 12v coil and resistor wire ( weak sparks ).. and you don't mention changing switch or any other wireing.

post back

I used a new 12volt coil and new wire to the distributer. I also put in a new set of points. No luck.
