Hi All, been a while. Now that my 4500 SOS TLB has been working tip-top, I've, decided to save a 3000 gas from certain death from a neighbors field. So far I've got the engine running good, and after splitting the tractor and un-sticking the clutch it runs and drives pretty well. Now, where I'm focusing now is getting the hydraulics to work properly. When I first got the tractor running the 3-point would not move at all. I assumed everything was likely frozen inside like the rest of the tractor was so I got the seal kit and removed the top cover to find, yes everything was froze. I was able to disassemble and clean the control valve, unloader valve, and the main piston. All are moving free and have new seals. Put her all back together with some fresh fluid and now the 3-point works, but VERY slowly. It does not drift or "bleed-down" and will lift me up no problem. (250lbs or so).

So... heres my main question: The manual clearly states to replace the o-ring at the large end of the unloader valve. Yet when I disassembled the unloader valve there was no o-ring on it. None of the ones in the kit seemed to fit quite right. I also read on another forum somewhere a guy said to NOT put the o-ring back on if it was there at all as it will make the valve stick. So, I left it out. Will this cause the symptoms I'm seeing now?

Also note, the tractor has a single spool remote that will hook up to athe loader I got with it., I have not gone through it as it seems to be working properly.

My next step is to make sure there is no air in the system, Then I guess pull the cover back off again. Any advise greatly appreciated. You guys got me through rebuilding my SOS tranny so I'm sure this one should be simple!

Turned out to be air in the system. I did also have the flow control turned out quite a bit too. (It's opposite on my Kubota). After bleeding the pump and turning in the flow control all is well. It was a little chattery at first but the more I worked them up and down it smoothed out. I'm gonna mount a mower on it tonight and work it to see how she does.

Some of the later model 3000s had a steel ring on the unloader valve.

Flow control valve was my first thought as well. I usually keep my flow control a couple of turns out as it makes controlling my my brush hog easier, and then when I finally got my loader hooked up last weekend I was very disappointed with how slow the loader was and thought that I would have to go ahead and buy a stinger pump and separate reservoir for the loader, and then I remembered the flow control valve and turned it all the way in. Now my loader works at an acceptable rate. It's not fast by no means, but for the amount of work I'll be doing with it, it's just fine.

just a thought off the top of my head, mainly because had a similar panic attack after first time rebuilding my hydro top cover....

Did you check the flow control valve? (don't ask how panicked I was)
