Hi, All,
for organizational reaosns I was gonna rebuild the carb on the 640 that's right here, and bring it out ot the farm and put it on the jubilee, bring the jube's carb back and then rebuild it. I figgered since same engine, I can swap carbs at will. Any reaosn why not?

thanks

BIll

Thansk for replies; will just do 'em in place. My 640 doesn;t have a sediment bowl on the carb :) it has a rubber hose and an inline fuel filter. I have a new bowl in hand, just wuznt thinking.

the carb can be made to work.. but as others said.. depending on manifold and actual carb.. there may be a need to slot the manifold holes and you will have to adapt the fuel inlet. 00 uses a bowl on the carb.. naa uses a bowl on the tank.

Mtg studs spacing may different, but not by much. You may have to modify manifold bolt holes.

If I'm not mistaken the NAA has the sediment bowl attached to the bottom of the fuel tank and on the 640 the sediment bowl is attached to the carburetor. The threads on the carb body may be different between the 2 carbs.

Correct.

It will be necessary to adapt a sediment bowl/filter to use the NAA carb on the 6xx.

Can not say if it will or will not work. I know the catalogs call for a different carb for the 2 of them but as long as the linkage hooks up the same and the carb will bolt to the manifold I would think it would work. I know in the past I have taken parts of 2 or 3 carbs and built a working carb that way. I have one such carb on an Oliver 60 engine and used parts from the carb made for the Oliver and parts of a carb for a 8N ford to build a working carb
