FYI - there is a Ford 5000 Hi Crop(?) advertised in the Columbus OH Craigslist.
Seller calls it a Hi Crop, but it looks like a row crop with a wide front axle, if Ford ever made such an animal.
He says it is located in SE Michigan, so I don't know what other areas it is listed in. Looks nice, low hours, but priced at $6500.

I have no dog in this, just passing info along.

| The sheet metal is '65-'67, but the decals are '68-on. |

| Fordfarmer,
That explains a lot. That is like my 961 decal that is labeled 901. Ford apparently used a generic decal on a lot of the models.

| Fordfarmer,
I didn't look for a 5200 on TD.com since it is listed as a 5000, and they didn't refer to any other variations. They only showed a utility style 5000.
Would the decal on the tractor call it a 5000 or a 5200? I couldn't read it from the photo.

| The decals all said 5000. The utility models were technically 5100's while the rowcrops were 5200's, but since the decals all said 5000, that's what most people call them. |

| Wayne,
That is what I thought also. The row crop models must be a bit rare as Tractordata.com doesn't even list them. Of course there are a LOT of omissions on Tractordata.
Maybe Tony Jacobs will chime in and offer some info.

| I agree with Wayne. It's a '67 or early '68 5200. Being there was only 1 1/2 years' production with that sheet metal and the 233 engine, I suppose it maybe is sorta rare. Nice tractor, but I'd rather have a later model with the 256 c.i. engine. Ford did have a hi-crop 5000 also. It was a utility model with 38" rears and the front axle knees with their taller spindles from the rowcrop. |

| I have a (5200)row crop 5000 that looks exatly like the one in the picture, only mine is a 1972 and the one on craig's list appears to be a little older. The picture has been taken from the ground up, makeing it appear taller then it actually is. So I don't think it is anything real special. |

| There"s nothing rare about the tractor in the ad. It"s just a "65-"67 5000 Row Crop. Lots of guys refer to them as "Flat Decks" because the operator doesn"t sit astraddle of the trans- he sits on top of it. As mentioned in another post Ford"s official designation is 5200 but all of the decals just said 5000. Ford quit using specific model decals in 1960. My 1967 5100 with SOS has 38" rear wheels so those aren"t even unique to the 5200. |
