Hi everyone, My tractor didn't have a drawbar when I got it and I was looking at them in the tractor supply store but don't know what length bar I need. Anyone know what the original length was? I don't have the lift arms installed so I don't know what the distance is between them either so I can't hazard a guess at this point. Any help is appreciated. :? |

Thanks AWHTX and everyone. I'll look for the 11 hole cat 1 at Tractor Suply next time I'm there. I'll check our sponsor site too maybe they have what I need.
Thanks

The length doesn't matter. You need to match the drawber to whatever category hitch you have. If it is indeed a Cat I, you need a Cat I drawbar.

Sean, you are correct in that I'm talking about the one that goes between the lift arms. I thought there might be a specific length to the bar so that it would fit with out the check chains limiting the space. I don't have the arms installed and When I get them mounted I can measure between the arms and that would answer my question. I just thought someone might know off hand what was the length of the original one. Thanks for the response and the info. I didn't know the name for the swing hitch thing was also called a drawbar.

My guess is that you need what"s commonly called an "11 hole drawbar". It"s Cat 1 and there are 11 holes in it.

What kind of a drawbar are you talking about? The drawbar that came with the tractor was a swinging drawbar that mounts to the underside of the rear axle and has nothing to do with the lift arms. It sounds like you are asking about those drawbars that mount between the 3 point lift arms, which are completely different. The lift arms are made to be able to vary the width between the ends so as to be able to fit various implements and to be able to actually spread out wider than the pins on the implements to mount and dismount the implement. As long as you get a drawbar that says that it will work with a category I 3 point hitch, it should work.
