Ok, 6610 Ford tractor, the 3pt hitch is jumping with no load on it.....lift cyl o-ring and backup ring are new, found a spring on load control valve that was broken, replaced that same response. It acts like a tractor that cylinder packing has worn/ dissolved......it will leak down a bit and bounce right back up to top. Any ideas or suggestions?

Have you checked your draft control setting?

There was a service bulletin that came out in the late 1980s that had to do with this issue. There was a kit developed to eliminate the drop poppet pin along with the breaking spring issue.

Might wish to have the dealer research some old bulletins and see if they can find it. With any luck, the kit will still be available. I don't think a parts guy could locate the kit without the service bulletin.

Could be a lot of things on that lift cover... Mal adjusted control valve and a bad lift cylinder safety valve are a couple more options. I think there's also a couple of ball checks in there that could be bad. It's so long since I looked at the flow diagrams for one that I can't remember. A good read through the Ford service manual would be of great benefit...
I'd also not rule out a problem with the lift cylinder itself. I've got one with a nasty gash down the wall and it does leak some...
