Need to replace the pressure line from the pump to the sector box, C-H wants $193 for it! What do you guys use or can one be made-up. Owner going to have smith-fit if I order one of them. |

Tisco makes a aftermarket hose to replace the steel line. I used one on mine. I think it cost about $30 plus shipping - If I remember correctly, this site carries them.

With out going and looking at my 841 I can not be 100% sure but if the fittings are the common hyd type or such you should be able to take it to an O'Reilly's or NAPA etc and have a line made for it

Would brake line tubing work or is the p/s pressure too great?

Hello Jim , You could use Brake Line Tubing because Power Steering pressure is only 800psi. on the AG tractors same as Ford cars and trucks of the same era. Heavy Duty Industrials with Cable steer ran 1300psi. and Later Drag link Steer ran 1100psi. NOTHING before the 3 cylinders EVER RAN 1500 or 2000psi. , the three point on the four cylinders only runs 2200psi. Thanks Tony

While brake line is made to take a good bit of pressure I do not think it would handle the 1500-2000PSI a power steering system can have. I learned years ago that a Chev power steering pump works well for a cheap hyd pump. Had one set up on a Farmall B at one time to lift the sickle bar mower I built for it
